What to expect?!
If you haven’t done a session like this yourself, I can tell you first hand, it’s a little nerve wrecking… Nothing like the Tyra Banks “smizing” we all have done in the mirror from time to time. You know, when we’re the only ones home. No, now you have to try and psych yourself up to pose, smile and be sexy in front of an audience. I know what your thinking, “NO WAY!” However, I am here to tell you, HELL YES! Coming from someone who is a little camera shy herself, it was the most feminine, empowering and confident I’ve ever felt. Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to pursue modeling or anything, but I now have beautiful images that I am incredibly proud of, because of how strong and brave it is to make the decision… Jamie was no exception.
She found the courage and pulled the trigger, no pun intended, Lol… ok maybe a little. Anyway, Now that the session details were all worked out, shoot day was upon us. Jamie arrived all bright eyed and busy tailed with a hint of nervous energy. :)
It didn’t take long for the mimosas to get served to help remedy the nerves. She started working with our amazing hair and make up artist, Briana Macias. They quickly settled on the perfect make up and hair style that would compliment each look and got straight to work. We finalized wardrobe and Sam and I prepped the studio for look number one.
Let the shooting begin!
For those who have worked with us know, we do have a method to our madness. We pair each wardrobe item with a backdrop and then have you start in the most conservative outfit, usually cute jeans and a flirty top. This way you can make your camera debut in something comfortable. This is designed to help you get comfortable in front of the camera and learn some basic poses, so you can bring out your inner model. (Don’t worry, I literally will help you with this every step of the way!) Not long after we are on to outfit number 2-4 and killing it every step of the way. Before you know it, the shoot is over and you will have a greater appreciation for professional models. Hehe
What now?!
After your session, you get to come back to the studio for the unveiling and ordering appointment. This is the most fun for us, because we get to see the priceless reactions when you see your images for the first time. All insecurities and reservations that you may have come in with instantly disappear. You get to appreciate the beautiful, confident and strong version of yourself! I have to admit, this is one of the hardest times during your session, you won’t know how incredibly difficult it is to pick between all of your favorites. Honestly, that is the most rewarding parts for our studio. Not to mention the greatest compliment we could ever receive. You don’t have to take our word for it either, you can see our client reviews anytime!
